Brief Introduction

Joined the School of Environmental Studies of CUSAT as Adjunct Faculty on 3 July 2023. Served as Professor of Safety Engineering and Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering of CUSAT from 1 July 2004 to 30 April 2023. Obtained B. Tech and M. Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Calicut (1984) and IIT Madras (1986) respectively. Started professional career with FACT Ltd, Kochi in January 1986. Obtained PhD degree in Environmental Engineering (1994) from CUSAT while working in Industry. Has more than 18 years of industrial experience in plant operation, process design, environment protection and process safety. Served as Head of the Divisions of Safety and Fire Engineering and Chemical Engineering, Principal of School of Engineering and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, CUSAT. Recipient of Young Scientist Award (1994) for Ecology and Environment, State Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Kerala and Prof. K. M. Bahauddin award (2018) for the distinguished engineering teacher of Kerala.  Research interests include Wastewater Engineering, Process Safety Engineering and Bioprocess Engineering.
