The School of Environmental Studies (SES), Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) hosted an inspiring session on “Purposeful Innovation – DeepTech & GRI: Sustainable Future” by Mr. Vinu George, Founder of GNOWGEN Solutions, on 16th October 2025.

Mr. George delivered an engaging and thought-provoking talk on how purpose-driven DeepTech, when integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI), can create measurable social and environmental impact. He elaborated on the role of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards in translating sustainability principles into actionable metrics, and highlighted the growing opportunities for students in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) innovation.

The session also emphasized the importance of developing a skills roadmap that combines continuous learning, strong communication, integrity, and leadership. Mr. George encouraged students to cultivate adaptability and align their technical knowledge with sustainability goals to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
